But I digress, action game, 1 woman 4 GUNS, a sword, whip, and ability to pick up any weapon and use it!! I've played the demo I just wish my 360 didn't red ring or I'd be playing NOW! I am too excited and I am waiting on the release, but no word on a Special Edition yet...not as far as I know, but I am keeping hopes alive to having a scantly clad Bayonetta Poster on my wall along with any collectibles of her that exist. I've never been so crazy about a woman before lol. But I know it'll be worth it.
What do you guys think?

*breath*
Apparently, this "Fortress" thing is a game, set in Ivalice of FFXII, proven by the Queenly-looking Ashe at the FFWikia page.
(I refuse to say that, though. I say, she's an ancestor.)
It's still to early to throw around theories, though.
Reactions?
PS: (I was panting because I just found out Patrick Stewart VA'ed a FFXII commercial. Now, if he played one of the characters, I'd be jumping in blissful joy while I watch Star Trek: Next Generation. And I'd be deathly in love with Picard. *shot*)

What is your biggest chain and where was it against what enemy?
Without ANY cheat ofc, I am TOTALLY against everything that is called cheats or even looks like a cheat...

My biggest chain was in Nabudis against "Dead Bones"
Passed 257 When I figured out I was tired of it..
Having my Embroided Tippet on my 3 characters Vaan, Basch and Fran earning me 3090 EXP per "Dead Bones" brought down...
I had Vaan And Basch Attacking while Fran was only stealing and Curaja'ing..

Great way to earn both money and Experience..

My Vaan is level 79.
My Basch is level 71.
My Fran is level 38.

Everyone of them gained several levels by doing this..
So I think this is a GREAT place to gain experience for high Level players (PS : For me a high level player is 70+)

**Added A Picture Where I had 251 Chain, same Chain as this 257 One, but I was ending it at 250, but on my way to the Teleport stone I killed a few more**

NLBLLG Bestiary Guide

Introduction
I'm posting this as an informative guide on how to complete* your Bestiary whilst playing a NLBLLG challenge. This guide may also help LLG players with LP farming, and other variations of License Board LLG games (such as No Accessories LLG).

* it won't be possible to fully complete your Bestiary on an NLBLLG challenge.

What is NLBLLG?
NLBLLG stands for No License Board Low Level Game, which is a game type in Final Fantasy XII whereby you play through the game without using the License Board or leveling up.

And why is a guide necessary?
Why is a guide necessary, I mean surely all you do is kill the monsters to get them in your Bestiary anyway... Oh wait! How do you kill the monsters without getting EXP? OMG This is impossible...
...and that's why I've made this guide!

Friendly Enemies and Support Characters
Every time a monster dies in the game, it will be added to your Bestiary, regardless of who killed it. This means if, for example, Wild Saurian uses it's skill Cannibalize to eat a Wolf in Dalmasca Estersand/The Stepping, you will have a Wolf added to your Bestiary! The same goes for Support Characters: if, for example, Rabanastre Watch in Dalmasca Estersand/Yardang Labyrinth uses his skill Jump to kill a Cockatrice, it will get added to your Bestiary. You will gain no LP or EXP from this method.

Friendly Monsters
Wild Saurian - Dalmasca Estersand/The Stepping
Need to finish this bit.

Support Characters
Bansat* - Giza Plains (Rain)/Tracks of the Beast
Monid * - Paramina Rift/Frozen Brook
Kjrn * - The Salikawood/Sun-dappled Path
Viera Wayferer * - Cerobi Steppe/The Northsword
Insecure Seeq * - Sochen Cave Palace/Doubt Abandoned
War-Chief Supinelu * - Zertinan Caverns/Hourglass Basin
Rabanastre Watch - Dalmasca Estersand/Yardang Labyrinth, Dalmasca Westersand/Galtea Downs
Bangaa Hunter - Giza Plains/Gizas South Bank
Garif Hunter - Giza Plains/Starfall Field, Ozmone Plain
Garif Warrior - Ozmone Plain

* These characters are only available during certain Hunts. They all use the Gambit Foe : Nearest Visible - Attack, so it's possible to use them to attack other monsters aside from the Hunt.

Skills that deal damage/have an effect over time
If you inflict an enemy with Petrify, for example, it will eventually die. For some reason, if you leave and re-enter the map the Petrified monster is on, and wait for it to die, you will get no EXP or LP* from it!
There are several methods of re-entering a map. Firstly, and most obviously, entering another map then returning is one method. Another method is jumping on a Chocobo, although this won't be available in many maps.

* You will get LP from the Chocobo method!

No Chocobo
1. Petrify a monster (use Ashe with Ancient Sword or Balthier with Stone Shot), then leave the map and return. The monster will eventually die but will drop no Loot and give no EXP or LP.
2. As above, but instead of Petrify, weaken a monster, then Poison it (use Fran with Bamboo Arrows) - the same effect occurs.

Chocobo
As above, Petrify or Poison a monster, then feed a Chocobo Gysahl Greens, stay on the Chocobo until the monster dies - it will drop it's Loot and give you LP, but no EXP.

Warp Motes
Warp Motes can be bought for 100 Gil from the Clan Provisioner in Rabanastre when you have the Clan Rank Paragon of Justice - Requires 24 completed Hunts and 250,000 Clan Points.
Every time a monster is successfully Warped, it will be added to your Bestiary!

Tryst's NLBEALLG Challenge

Edit: I got to a point where this became practically impossible, so I've now included Tomb of Raithwall before making the Nihopalaoa Accessory.
Edit: I've done some thinking, and making this a solo game thereafter would more than likely be impossible. I'm just going to play through with at least 3 characters, and may attempt solo if I ever complete this.

Before I say anything, this guide assumes you've completed the game at least once before and that you have some form of guide for the game. I'm not going to waste my time telling you where marks etc... are in the game, I'll just tell you how to deal with them.

NLBEALLG?
NLBEALLG stands for No License Board Except Accessories Low Level Game. Simply, you're playing both the NLB and LLG challenge except you have the use of only Accessories. It's something I thought up a few days ago; I don't know if it's been done before!

Introduction
Firstly, I have no idea if this is even possible, I'm writing this as I go along.
You're pretty much playing an NLBLLG game until you meet up with all your characters and finish the Tomb Of Raithwall. After that you'll want to defeat 10 Marks to allow you to obtain the Nihopalaoa Accessory.

Once you have the Nihopalaoa, the game will become much easier - theoretically.
As I said before, I have no idea if this is even possible, we'll just have to see.

The Hunts in this guide are listed in order of ease as opposed to their order in the Clan Primer.

Reks to Leviathan
Small Package
Before heading out to kill the Rogue Tomato, speak to the Desert Merchant in Rabanastre/Southern Plaza to obtain the Loot "Small Package". This is the only change you have to get this piece of Loot, you can either keep it for collection purposes or sell it for a small amount of Gil.

Hunt 1 : Rogue Tomato
Just do as you would in any game type, attack the mark a few times to bring it down. Remember to go back and get your reward from Tomaj once the hunt is complete.

See http://forum.ffxii.us/showthread.php?tid=1321 for everything up to leaving the Leviathan. The only difference between this and that is that you don't use the License Board for this challenge.

Hunt 2 : Thextera
It's a good idea to wait until you have Balthier and Fran in your party before attempting this. Use Balthier with either Altair or Capella to attack the mark whilst using Vaan and Fran to throw in Potions whenever Balthier needs healing. Remember not to attack any of the wolves Thextera may summon.

Obtaining the Nihopalaoa
After leaving the Leviathan you will already have two hunts complete - the Rogue Tomato and Thextera. To obtain the Nihopalaoa you need at least 10 hunts completed; this bit will be tricky, but without the Nihopalaoa, completing the game will be very hard!

Before you do anything, buy a Vega from Rabanastre (for 2,400 Gil), and give it to Balthier.
For all the hunts it's a good idea to try to have as many Potions as possible - so do some Gil farming before setting out.

Hunt 3 : Flowering Cactoid
This is an easy hunt, simply use Balthier with the Vega to take him down in no time. If he uses 1,000 Needles, simply bring in another player to revive yourself with.

Hunt 4 : Wraith
Another easy hunt. Buy yourself some Hi-Potions and give your attacking characters this Gambit set-up: Foe : Nearest Visible - Hi-Potion.

Hunt 5 : Rocktoise
Despite having almost 18,000 HP, this hunt is again relatively easy.
You will need a bit of luck in that you won't want a Skull Defender also attacking you during the fight - if you're lucky he won't spawn in the narrow corridor between yourself and the mark; otherwise you'll have to wait for him to walk into the area where the Rocktoise is and hope he doesn't see you.
Edit: If you run around the Rocktoise and go to where the locked gate is, the Skull Defender should stop targetting you.
I did this fight without using Silent Shot - silencing Rocktoise is a bad idea.

What you'll want to do is only have Balthier doing the fighting - equip him with both Vega and Manufactured Nethicite. Walk up to the mark, attack him with your Vega, run back. He'll cast various Magicks on you, but these shouldn't cause you too much trouble with the Manufactured Nethicite equipped. When your HP drops to below half, bring out another character and toss Balthier a Potion.

For Gambits I had:
Balthier - Foe : Party Leader's Target - Attack
Vaan (or any other character) - Ally HP < 70% - Potion

If the mark starts using a non-Magick skill such as Sonic Spin or Stone Stomp, simply run back a bit until he starts using Magick again - do the same if he starts using Flash, too.
It's a bit of a boring battle, but it's over pretty quickly.

Meeting Vossler
If you haven't already met up with Vossler, head to the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea/Platform 1 - Refinery and after a small cut-scene he will join your party as a guest.
He will prove to be very valuable for the next 5 hunts.

Hunt 6 : Nidhogg
Before heading into the Lhusu Mines for the second time, make sure you have plenty of Potions and a few Phoenix Downs.
I found this battle very easy with Vossler fighting alongside me.
Try not to attract attention from the Steeling. If Vossler starts targeting it, Flee until he stops. Changing map will reset the mark's HP.
Push Vossler forward until he starts targetting the Nidhogg. You'll want to control Balthier to also fight the mark with Vossler - but make sure you stand well back so as not to make the mark target you. With a second character you'll want the Gambit Ally : HP < 70% - Potion.
If Vossler does die, revive him as soon as possible and try your best to get the mark to target him instead of you.

Reward: 600 Gil, Rose Corsage, Balaclava, Great Serpentskin.

Wait, now what?
If you didn't kill Ba'Gamnan, you'll still be a Hedge Knight. This will mean that - apart from Cluckatrice - you've now completed all the hunts available to you. Even if you did kill Ba'Gamnan, you still need to attain the Vanguard Clan Rank - which means you need to have at least 20,000 Clan Points.
This is where Chickatrice farming comes into play. Make sure you have plenty of Potions, Phoenix Downs and spare Gil, then take yourself off to the Giza Plains.

Chickatrice LP/Clan Points Farming
Unlike on the LLG challenge, instead of using Warp here you'll be killing the monsters. You'll want to make a party of Basch, Ashe and Penelo - these three won't level up by killing all the monsters required to make the Cluckatrice appear.
Once you have killed all the monsters, leave the map and then return; Cluckatrice will now have spawned along with 3 Chickatrice - it's the Chickatrice you will want to kill.

The best method I've found is to have Vossler, Balthier and Basch doing the attacking, and have another character doing the healing.
You'll get Stone Gaze cast on you a lot; once your main attackers have been petrified just return to the main village area and touch the Save Crystal to revive them. To avoid this happening too often, keep Balthier away from the main fight, this way at least he will stay Stone-free.

The great thing about this is that you can also use the shop in the main village area to restock Potions. Unfortunately this merchant doesn't sell Phoenix Downs - so try your best to stay alive!

Ideally you will want to only fight one Chickatrice at a time, however this rarely happens. Try your best to keep only one of the party members targeted by the monsters (Vossler more than the others), otherwise it's difficult to keep them all healthy.

When does this stop?
Chickatrice farming is really time consuming. You will want to get enough LP from them to unlock the Nihopalaoa License on the License Board.

If you haven't spent any LP on Accessories so far (which you shouldn'tve done), your character status will look something like this:

Vaan - 97 LP
Balthier - 90 LP
Fran - 54 LP
Basch - 36 LP
Ashe - 111 LP
Penelo - 260 LP

I've done a bit of math to work out how much LP it would take each character to unlock Nihopalaoa from the current standing (with the above LP figures) using the shortest possible route to the License. I've also included the rough amount of LP you will get from the remaining 4 Hunts (~52), so don't worry when you're about 52 or so LP away from unlocking Nihopalaoa on the character you wish to use.

Edit: It's more like ~100 LP away from unlocking Nihopalaoa now, so for now deduct a further 50 LP from the below figures. I'll update this some other time.

Key: Character - Accessory License Board Number (2 = "Accessories 2" on the License Board) - Total ammount of LP required from Chickatrice farming.

Vaan - 2, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 341 LP
Balthier - 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 353 LP
Fran - 2, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 384 LP
Basch - 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 387 LP
Ashe - 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 312 LP
Penelo - 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20 - 183

Hunt 7 : Cluckatrice
Read the above section if you haven't already, as this continues on from that.

...if you want to be on the safe side, continue killing the Chickatrice to unlock the Nihopalaoa now instead of after the 4 remaining hunts are done. Otherwise, when you're about 52 LP from unlocking the License, kill Cluckatrice and complete the hunt.

Urutan Eater
Once you're done with the Cluckatrice hunt, head out towards the Tomb of Raithwall.
The Urutan Eater isn't too difficult, simply use Balthier with the Vega to attack from afar, Vossler attacking up close, and another character throwing Potions at Vossler every so often.

Hunt 8 : Wyvern Lord
This will be your first tough battle. You'll want to stock up on Potions, Hi-Potions, Phoenix Downs and Gold Needles before heading out.
Avoid the monsters in the map before starting to attack Wyvern Lord - this can be tricky. It also means that you will have quite a small battle ground.
Equip Balthier with Headguard, Leather Brestplate and Manufactured Nethicite. This will mean that 70% of the times Wyvern Lord casts Aero, he will stay alive. You'll want to have two characters - I used Basch and Fran - giving Potions, Phoenix Downs and Gold Needles. When Vossler dies, revive him instantly.
The best thing to do is have Vossler targeted by the mark at all times, Balthier attacking from further back, and one healing character being controlled by you. I didn't use Gambits for this battle, and wouldn't recommend it.

I didn't use Fran attacking with her Bow, simply because I needed the last party member to come out only to revive other characters.
If all four characters are killed by Aero, bring out one of your reserves and revive one of your healer characters. Then use both your healer and reserve to revive Balthier and Vossler - then, when you get the chance, revive your second healer character as well.

Use Potions sparingly as you won't want to run out.
You can get stuck in an awkward loop where all you seem to be doing is reviving and using Potions, but not actually attacking. If this happens just run back a little until the mark stops targeting you, revive and heal yourself, then run back to the battle again.
I can't really suggest much more of a strategy than attacking, reviving, healing, attacking etc...

After the battle is over, head straight on to fight Garuda - you'll be given an opportunity to save.

Boss : Garuda
This fight is much easier than the Wyvern Lord. You'll want to control Balthier throughout the fight.
Start with just Balthier and Vossler, and make Vossler target the monster. Walk away from the monster a little then bring out a healer to heal Vossler whenever he gets hit. He shouldn't get killed if you're quick with the Potions. The fight is over pretty swiftly.

Boss : Demon Wall
Ignore the first, for now.
The second is pretty easy to take down, make Balthier Berserk, then run up to the wall with your healer to make it target you. You can take the Wall down to about 50% HP before it targets another character - which is a great start to the battle. If it uses Telega on Balthier, restart.
I used three attackers (Ashe, Balthier and Vossler) and one healer for this, and it was easy.

Aqua Shot
To make this you'll need to steal the following:

1x Yensa Scale from Yensa/Bull Yensa (Nam-Yensa Sandsea)

3x Green Liquid from Slime (Zertinian Caverns)

4x Water Stone from Giza Rabbit (Giza Plains)

Esper : Belias
Before defeating Belias, head back to the Clan Hall in Rabanastre and collect a Warp Mote from Montblanc for defeating the Demon Wall! Make sure you also have plenty of Potions, Hi-Potions and Phoenix Downs!

This is nothing compared to the Wyvern Lord hunt. Have a party of Vossler, Balthier and your healer. Make sure Balthier stays Beserk. Place your healer between Balthier and the Esper, and control that character yourself, throwing Potions and Hi-Potions at Vossler when needed.
Use a Handkerchief on Vossler if he gets the Oil status, but don't worry about your healer and Balthier.
When Belias casts Firaja and kills all three, bring out three of your reserve characters and revive yourself. Then swap back to the old formation of Balthier, Vossler and your healer. The fight won't take too long if you don't mess up, and keep your party alive.

Boss : Vossler
After obtaining the Dawn Shard and leaving the Tomb of Raithwall, Vossler will leave your party. Save your game at the Crystal before walking out into the open area to start this battle.
Firstly, throw a Warp Mote to get rid of the Imperials - if you don't have a Warp Mote you can't continue, you should've got one from Montblanc in the Clan Hall after defeating the Demon Wall!
Vossler is annoying in that many of his hits are combos, meaning on many occasions he will force you to use a Phoenix Down instead of a Potion. You'll want to have Vossler targeting Basch as he has the most HP/Defence. You'll want a healer (or you could use Basch, but Basch is good for attacking). You'll want a Berserk Balthier doing the most damage.
When Basch dies, revive him as soon as possible. When he dies, remove Balthier from the battlefield before Vossler targets him, this way Vossler will focus his attacks on your healer instead, giving you time to revive Basch in peace!

Try to keep your reserve team alive too - the last thing you want is for both your healer and Basch to die, and find you have nobody left to revive them.

This battle won't be too difficult. I found it more annoying than anything.

All this, and still no Nihopalaoa?
We're almost there, don't worry!
Now that you've obtained the Dawn Shard, three new hunts will be available. Firstly, head to the Clan Hall to collect some goodies from Montblanc, and accept the Gil Snapper hunt. Then go to the Sandsea to accept the other two.

Now that you've got the Dawn Shard, it's also possible to buy the Sirius from Rabanastre. This gun will give Balthier an extra +4 attack, so it's well worth spending the money on!

Reunited with Larsa
Before attempting any of the Hunts, go to Jahara to get Larsa to rejoin your Party as a Guest.

Hunt 9 : Croakadile
Before you start, wait a while for the mark to lose Bravery and Shell.

This hunt won't be too difficult if you stay near to him. If you surround him with your Party he won't use Renew. For this battle I kept Balthier Berserk and had Larsa and Basch attacking, and my healer waiting to throw in Phoenix Downs.
Almost all of his hits will one-hit kill your party members, so remove any Potion/Hi-Potion Gambits you have set up. Your healer will want just Ally : Any - Phoenix Down.
Keep Balthier Berserk by giving him a Self - Bacchus Wine Gambit above Foe : Nearest Visible - Attack.

This battle shouldn't take too long.
Oh, and remember to remove Aqua Shot from Balthier, Croakadile only receives half damage from Water.

Hunt 10 : Gil Snapper
For this hunt you will have the support character Bansat helping you. He is level 36 with 4,797 HP, which is a nice help!
You'll want Bansat targeted throughout the battle. Use a Berserk Balthier to also deal damage to the mark. I used two healers for this; when Bansat gets hit for more than 400 damage, using the Gambit Ally : HP < 40% worked well - if Bansat's HP drops below 50%, Larsa will throw a Hi-Potion at him, which also helps a lot as you get to save some Gil.

Balsat is Immune to all of the things Gil Snapper will cast on him, but annoyingly he's also Immune to Berserk, so will spend a lot of time buffing your party instead of attacking the mark.
This hunt will be over fairly without much problem provided Bansat doesn't die. I found the best formation was to have Balthier to the left of the mark, Bansat to the right, and your two healers and Larsa at the bottom - just far enough away so Larsa doesn't start attacking, but close enough to be able to heal both Balthier and Bansat.

Every time Balthier shoots the mark he will get hurt himself, so don't forget to heal him as well!
You may even want to keep Balthier normal (not Berserk), and give him the gambit Ally : HP < 30% - Potion; this way there will be hardly any risk of your party getting targeted by the mark.

Towards the end of the battle, the mark will unleash some large combos (7+ hits) on Bansat. For this I changed my HP < 30% Gambit to HP < 60%.
I went through 55 Hi-Potions and 36 Potions on this hunt, so make sure you're well stocked up!

Nihopalaoa, finally!
That's right! You are now a Headhunter Clan Rank, and can now purchase Nihopalaoa from the Clan Provisioner in the Muthru Bazaar for 30,000 Gil.
This will make your future game-play a lot lot easier!

Now that you're at this stage, you'll want to be doing a bit more Gil farming as you'll now be relying on more than just Potions, Hi-Potions and Phoenix Downs. I saved up 300,000 Gil for this part by farming King Bomb from The Salikawood (refer back to the 122333 guide again if you're unsure).

Henne Mines to Stilshrine of Miriam
Now you have a Nihopalaoa, you'll be able to inflict various useful status ailments on your enemies to pass them without dying. It's useful to stock up on Chronos Tears and Alarm Clocks to inflict both Stop and Sleep. I don't think there are any monsters between Henne Mines and Stilshrine of Miriam that are Immune to both!

If you encounter an enemy you don't think you can get past without having to use up a few Phoenix Downs, simply throw either a Chronos Tear or Alarm Clock at them to temporarily put them out of action.

Boss : Tiamat
This is an incredibly easy battle. You only actually need one character throughout the entirety of the battle!
Before beginning make sure you have 99 Potions, Hi-Potions, Remedies and Smelling Salts.

The first thing you'll want to do is kill off Larsa as he gets in the way (just throw a Phoenix Down at him with your Reverse player).
You'll want a two-person party; one of them wearing Nihopalaoa and the other can be any of the remaining 5 characters. As soon as you enter the battle, Tiamat will probably kill the party leader before they get a chance to do anything, this is why Reverse is on your second player. As soon as you can, throw a Smelling Salt at Tiamat to make him Confused. If your party leader is still alive, withdraw them from the battle and stick with just your Reverse player.
Before Tiamat hits himself to remove his Confusion, throw a Remedy at him to make him Slow, then wait for him to come out of Confusion.

When his Confusion wears off, throw another Smelling Salt at him. You should now be able to throw two or three Hi-Potions at him before his Confusion goes away! This is what you'll want to do throughout the battle: Confuse him, throw two or three Hi-Potions at him, repeat. When his Slow wears off, throw another Remedy at him.

Eventually you'll run out of Hi-Potions. This is where the 99 Potions you have come into play - after using about 65 of them, Tiamat will finally fall.

A few days ago I stumbled across a video about glitches for Legend Of Zelda : The Ocarina Of Time, and in that game it's possible to skip entire sections of the game by 'abusing' a few glitches.

I was wondering if there's anything like this in Final Fantasy XII. As I play a Solo Vaan, it'd be pretty awesome if there was a glitch that allowed me to get past the guards at Nalbina Fortress to access the Mosphorian Highwaste earlier than intended.

Anyone know of any such things?
